When Emraan Hashmi started out he ventured into the path (by taking up bold roles and movies) which any Bollywood conventional hero would think twice before doing it. He did film like MURDER, ZEHER, GANGSTER, JANNAT, etc and went on to establish himself as the serial kisser of Bollywood. And now the actor, who has completed more than a decade in the industry, is yet again trying his hand at something which is completely out of his comfort zone.

Despite doing diverse set of roles in his 12-year long career, as per the actor his upcoming release, AZHAR, biopic on former cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin, is his most challenging film till date. “Before this in my 12-year career, I never focused exclusively on a film for a year-and-a-half. It was a risk and meant getting out of my comfort zone. Every film comes with its own challenges but this one demanded 10 times the work of a regular film since Azhar is a public figure. It was a nerve wrecking experience,” he admits
And Emraan's sole reason of doing this film was that it truly brought out the actor in him and gave him the opportunity to the push the envelope. From learning the nuances, body language and mindset of Mohammed Azharuddin to undergoing cricket training, the actor has done it all.
“It meant training in a sport, learning the moves, spending hours with Azhar (Mohd. Azharuddin) to understand how he sees himself, familiarize myself with his life before recreating it on screen.” Emraan says.
Emraan would definitely like to try his hand at more such films. He will be next seen in Part 4 of the hit franchise RAAZ and MURDER.
And with biopics working big time in the industry (the recent example being Sonam Kapoor's NEERJA) these days, we are sure Emraan's career would also a get a new lease of life (as the actor had a slate of films that bombed at the box-office back-to-back). Hope, all his hard work pays off.
