Very much as we had said in our box-office report, the Hollywood venture, BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, featuring the two legendary comic superheroes, managed to overpower Bollywood's John Abraham starrer, ROCKY HANDSOME, specially at city/ metro multiplexes.

While the Good Friday holiday managed to give ROCKY HANDSOME a 25-35 percent start (higher percentage at single screen cinemas), it was BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE which stole the show quite convincingly with a 50-70 percent start (higher occupancies at ‘A' centre multiplexes).
Having said that, as the days progress the Nishikant Kamat directed ROCKY HANDSOME is expected to come into its own, once the initial hype for the Hollywood venture is over, as BATMAN V. SUPERMAN is not carrying very good reports.
Meanwhile, last week's Dharma Productions venture, the Rishi Kapoor, Fawad Khan, Siddharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt starrer, KAPOOR & SONS, managed quite a good opening week, netting in the 45-47 crore range from India, in addition to its impressive overseas performance. Given the handsome recoveries from non-theatrical rights, coupled with the overseas run, KAPOOR & SONS is expected to be the third hit of 2016, after AIRLIFT and NEERJA.
