Salim Diwan and his act of madness!
Salim Diwan turned in a superlative performance in BOLLYWOOD DIARIES two weeks ago. The lad was so impressive as the aam aadmi who wanted a slice of Bollywood that is was distressing and disturbing to see his act move from a mere fixation to utter madness.

In his desire to make it on the ‘Silver Screen' Rohit (the character he portrayed), goes beyond the call of madness to try to achieve his dreams. And when he fails, he trips in the head and he takes his entire family down with him. The last sequence with him was gut-wrenching and wonderfully captured by first-time director K D Satyam.

This is madness and it tapped the pulse of the common man and the desire he/she fuels to one day become another success story in Bollywood.

Full marks to Salim for bringing alive that desire and portraying it on the screen in a manner so real that you almost wanted to go out and hug him and say, “everything will be okay.”

Well done, buddy. Here's hoping to seeing a lot more of you on screen.

FANtastic promo!
Another movie which is close to reality will soon hit the theatres next month. And going by the connect BOLLYWOOD DIARIES had with the audience I'm sure FAN will also hit the high notes to perfection.

FAN PROMOS CONNECT LIKE BOLLYWOOD DIARIES
FAN PROMOS CONNECT LIKE BOLLYWOOD DIARIES

This again is another page from bollywood diaries where the aam aadmi wants to meet up with his idol. I believe, like the characters in BOLLYWOOD DIARIES, the fan here too goes ‘out of his way' to meet his idol. And when he is snubbed, like Rohit (Salim Diwan), all hell breaks loose.

The promos of FAN have been very, very impressive. Shah Rukh Khan playing the superstar and the fan is intense. You can sense the lunacy in his body language as Gaurav the fan. The fear when the Fan goes berserk is also captured beautifully in Aryan Khanna.

A great topic with a great connect, topped with not just one, but two Khans -Shah Rukh Khan and Shah Rukh Khan!

Let's hope director Maneesh Sharma keeps us invested all through film's duration with this ‘sure-to-connect' plot.

Raima Sen scores over Sunny Leone
Since I started with BOLLYWOOD DIARIES, I will end this column with an insight from the same movie. Raima Sen who plays Imli, the prostitute from Kolkata, like Salim Diwan, too hammered home her plight. But what was impressive about her was the turnaround towards the end when she goes all glam.

RAIMA SEN SIZZLES AND SHINES
RAIMA SEN SIZZLES AND SHINES

In an earlier scene, she mentions in her dialogue, “If Sunny Leone can make it in Bollywood, why can't I.” She has Sunny's posters plastered all over her room for inspiration.

In the end, her metamorphosis from a tacky prostitute to this stunning beauty is amazing. Methinks that even Sunny Leone pales in comparison to her images on screen. There's not only oomph and desire in her body language, but Raima also injects the sadness in her profile. Check out her eyes which spew desire and loneliness.

Sunny always gives you that well-perfected ice-cold stare!
