TE3N sparks many new things , specially for Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who not only is sharing the screen space with megastar Amitabh Bachchan for the very first time, but he apparently even learnt Bengali on sets!!

If you don't already know, Amitabh Bachchan was the one to suggest Sujoy Ghosh (producer) that the movie be shot in Kolkata.
Speaking on the same, Amitabh Bachchan had even said, “Suggesting Kolkata has been great benefit for me. My first job was there and inputs for my movie KAALA PATTHAR came from my own life, when I lived in Kolkata.”
Vidya, on the other hand, said, “I spend half my days in Kolkata only. The experience on TE3N was wonderful. My debut film even before Parineeta was also in Bengal and I actually don't miss home when I'm there. Nawaz and me met on the sets of TE3N in Kolkata after 6 years (since KAHAANI) and as can be seen, most of my scenes are with him.”
It is being heard that the atmosphere on the sets, in Kolkata was one of bonhomie, Bengali food and often lots of conversations in the mellifluous language, as director Ribhu Dasgupta, creative producer Sujoy Ghosh, Vidya Balan and Amitabh Bachchan (both of whom know the language quite well), would discuss the activities of the day in Bengali... so much so that Nawazuddin over the course of the shoot too learnt Bengali well enough to hold a conversation, unwittingly!
Says a source close to the team, 'Sujoyda, Ribhu, Mr. Bachchan and Vidya, who feel quite at home in Kolkata, would often slip into Bengali phrases in their conversations, so even Nawaz by the end of the shoot understood most of it and could speak quite well, helped by the actors.'
Speaking about his experience shooting for the film in Kolkata, Amitabh Bachchan revealed that he moved around in a tram and the scene is most probably a part of the movie and that he asked Ribhu to get him a scooter 2-3 months for practice.
Big B further went on to say that there was never a set in the film and it was all shot in real locations. In fact he even revealed that the lighting also didn't need adjustment because Ribhu wanted to keep everything natural, which he found very good.
Vidya also added, “I learnt driving for this film, even when not many shots of that. I did drive myself and Sujoy was my instructor.”
