The two prominent new releases of the week are Ekta Kapoor's Emraan Hashmi starrer AZHAR along with Vivek Agnihotri's BUDDHA IN A TRAFFIC JAM. Needless to add that the front runner will be Tony D' Souza directed AZHAR and may turn out to be the best opening for an Emraan Hashmi starrer in recent times, as the star's career is going through a rough patch, off late. Having said that the Anupam Kher starrer BUDDHA IN A TRAFFIC JAM will also find its loyal set of followers at high end metro and 'A' city multiplexes as the film has been in the news recently for various reasons.
AZHAR and ONE NIGHT STAND
Meanwhile, last week once again saw a Hollywood venture CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR dominating the Hindi releases, in a big way as it netted 27-28 crore during the opening weekend.
As far as the Hindi films go the front runner by a long margin was the Sharman-Meera starrer, 1920 LONDON, netting about 8 crore during the opening weekend, while the second best Sunny-Tanuj's ONE NIGHT STAND lagged behind with around 3 crore. The last release of the same week, the critically acclaimed Manoj Bajpayee, Jimmy Shergill and Divya Dutta starrer TRAFFIC managed collections below 2 crore. From the three aforementioned releases, it is only the Sharman Joshi venture 1920 LONDON which has some realistic chances of making any mark whatsoever.
