Twenty five years ago, Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia aka Akshay Kumar – a handsome man without any filmi connections made his first appearance on the marquee with SAUGANDH. Before his first break in films, Akshay danced as extra in films and worked as chef and waiter in Bangkok. Today Akshay is a fitness icon and the on screen face of patriotism in India. Celebrating 25 years, the Khiladi of Bollywood Akshay Kumar has hit the bull's eye with thunderous applause in 2.0. The said sequel to ENTHIRAN (ROBOT in Hindi) is a masterstroke in Akshay Kumar's career.

2.0 MOVIE POSTERS2.0 MOVIE POSTERS

In a never before seen avatar Akshay Kumar is set to take villainy a notch higher with his deadly look as Dr. Richards who turns into a crow as a result of a wrong experiment. Long nails, golden eyes and shaggy eye-brows, Akshay shared the first look on social media with the caption saying, 'Evil has a new face! @2Point0 #3Diwali2017 #2PointOFLaunch [sic].'.

The guy has nailed it we say, even superstar Rajinikanth couldn't escape the awe and has reportedly said yesterday at the movie's grand first look launch, “Akshay is the hero of the film, if I was given a choice I would have done Akki's role.”

That says it all, Rajinikanth is known for his outright humbleness and honest opinion. It's a historic landmark in Akshay Kumar's career, 2.0 is touted to be the costliest film in Asia with a staggering budget of Rs. 350 crore, the movie marks Akshay Kumar's grand entry in Tamil cinema. 2.0 – the sequel to ENTHIRAN directed by Shankar will be shot in Tamil and is likely to be dubbed in Telugu and Hindi.

Akshay Kumar in his 25 years career has never gone for a major makeover with a complete change in get up, speaking about his look in 2.0 the actor reportedly said at the movies teaser launch, “I have never put on make-up in 25 years of my career. But in this film I have done all the makeup of 25 years.”

The most rewarding is the possibility of 2.0 is its ability to widen Akshay Kumar's horizons as a pan India star. His second lease of life ‘ROWDY RATHORE' in 2012 the remake of Telugu film VIKRAMARKUDU which is said to be inspired from Subash Ghai's KALICHARAN starring Shatrughan Sinha, helped in Akshay Kumar's popularity down south making some in roads.

By starring in A.R. Murugadoss HOLIDAY: A SOLDIER IS NEVER OFF DUTY – the remake of Murgadoss Tamil film THUPPAKKI, Akshay surged ahead in his familiarity down south. News of Akshay Kumar likely to do the Hindi remake of another A.R. Murgadoss film - KATHTHI that again starred Vijay has already made it rounds earlier.

With the buzz surrounding Akshay Kumar starring in super hit remakes from south coming on at regular intervals, the Khiladi couldn't have asked for a bigger and better platform than a Rajiniknath starrer helmed by Shankar.

2.0 is all Akshay Kumar's gain in spite of the presence of the mighty superstar Rajiniknath and you need to be someone to hog the limelight from Rajinikanth in his own film.

Akshay Kumar was targeted for his bad choices previously, the back-to-back debacles and repeated appearance in no brainers made people wondering about the duration of his innings in Bollywood but ROWDY RATHORE changed everything and good sense prevailed when the actor turned producer and started doing good cinema. His association with Neeraj Pandey has played a key role.

Certainly, Akshay Kumar is the ‘hero' of 2.0. It's a masterstroke for the Khiladi of Bollywood who is all set to win hearts pan India with his evil villainy after winning hearts as an Indian with good and kind virtues in BABY, AIRLIFT, RUSTOM and GABBAR IS BACK.
