Finally the long pending proposal to issue censor certificates to films online  will be implemented by the end of January 2017.

The initiative will begin with the CBFC's Mumbai office and it is believed that the move will keep at bay middle man and others who look to gain quick access to their movie's censor certificate by false means avoiding the normal process.

We spoke to Pahlaj Nihali and he confirmed the development and said, ' The initiative of issuing online certification will hopefully start by end of January 2017 or at the start of February 2017, right now work on the same is in full swing'.

When quipped further, Mr Nihalani clarified that the move is restricted in getting censor certificate copies and not movie certification, saying, ' “Only the process of issuing censor certificate will be online, while the norms and procedure of CBFC for movie submission and certification remains the same. The producer has to submit his film to censor board and CBFC will issue the certificate online as rated by the jury.”

Earlier it was mandatory for producers to be physically present at the Censor Board to collect their movie's certifications copy and it was a mundane time consuming process.

With this move, producers will get the censor certificate of the films online at the earliest saving time and restricting other malpractices.
