Rakesh Roshan's fixation with letter ‘K' continues.
Previously whenever a film with letter K in its initials released it was a norm to assume that the film either belonged to Karan Johar, Ekta Kapoor or Rakesh Roshan. Though with time, Karan Johar's and Ekta's fixation with the letter K has diminished, but Rakesh Roshan's fascination for K is still intact and continues even after 30 long years!
After his successful stint as an actor, Rakesh Roshan forayed into production with hits like AAP KE DEEWANE and KAAMCHOR. During the shoot of JAAG UTHA INSAN, a fan wrote to him suggesting he should title his movies with K. The filmmaker didn't pay heed and unfortunately JAAG UTHA INSAN and BHAGWAN DADA tanked at the box office.
That's when Roshan realized how some of his biggest hit's titles like KHOOBSURAT, KAAMCHOR, KHEL KHEL MEIN, KHATTA MEETA and KHANDAAN began with K. After KHUDGARZ became a super hit, Roshan decided that hence forth he will name all his films with K in its initial. The success of most of his films like KHOON BHARI MAANG, KALA BAZAAR, KISHEN KANHAIYA, KHEL, KARAN ARJUN, KOYLA, KAHO NAA PYAAR Hai, KOI MIL GAYA, KRRISH and KRRISH 3 further proved his decision right. Although his film KITES tanked at the box-office, but majorly these K letter films have worked well for Rakesh Roshan.
The filmmaker is now all set to work with his son Hrithik Roshan again in KAABIL, which is directed by Sanjay Gupta and is slated to release on January 26, 2017.Talking about his ‘K' fixation, Roshan says, “All these films I made comfortably, without any problems. Plus most of these films worked for me. Even though KING UNCLE didn't fare well, I enjoyed making it. Considering that most of the K films worked, I thought, why not stick to this alphabet.”
The filmmaker further shared that he has registered over 50 titles with K. “I won't make all those films. That's for Hrithik to decide which he wants to make,” he said.
Well, going by the past record and K factor working in favour of Roshans most of the time, it is to be seen if KAABIL can fend off Hrithik Roshan's jinxed period in Bollywood, as he desperately needs a hit in the kitty.
