The 18th edition of MAMI Mumbai Film Festival is all set to bring back the short film category - ‘Dimensions Mumbai' for young filmmakers from Mumbai with a power-packed jury. Director Zoya Akhtar heads the division and is joined by Richa Chaddha as member to the team of jury that forms an interesting panel.
The popular section amongst budding filmmakers ‘Dimension Mumbai' is a short film category that focuses on young filmmakers from Mumbai providing a platform for young talent to showcase their work. The winner of the category will receive the Silver Gateway Trophy along with a cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000.
Director Zoya Akhtar, actress Richa Chaddha are joined by national award winning filmmaker Nagraj Manjule, director Shakun Batra and filmmaker Kanu Behl.
Zoya Akhtar, Director and Head of Jury for Dimensions said, “Mumbai has always been a hotbed of talent and MAMI is an excellent platform to showcase it. Dimensions is a great opportunity for aspiring filmmakers, I am thrilled to be a part of the jury.'
Nagraj Manjule, Director and a jury member for Dimensions said, “MAMI was the first big film platform which recognized my work and awarded me for my first feature film FANDRY. My experience as a participant of MAMI was exciting and this year I am looking forward to experience it as a Jury member.'
Richa Chadda, Actress and jury for Dimensions said, “I am delighted to be a part of this jury with such luminaries and people who I admire a lot in general. Short films are here to stay and I find the format of telling stories in a shorter duration very fascinating. I am looking forward to watching these films and brainstorming with everyone.'
The 18th edition of the festival will take place between October 20 to 27, 2016 at various locations across Mumbai.
