The coming Friday will see almost a dozen films listed for release (including regional and dubbed), the prominent one's being Riteish-Nargis's BANJO, Radhika Apte-Surveen Chawla starrer PARCHED, DAYS OF TAFREE (Hindi version of CHELLO DIVAS), Shreyas and Manjari's WAH TAJ , YEH HAI JUDGEMENT HANGED TILL DEATH and Neelima & Priyanshu starrer MAJAZ – AE GHAM-E-DIL KYA KARUN etc. As things stand, so many releases on the same day means hara-kiri for all. Having said that the front runner is likely to be BANJO followed by WAH TAJ (comparatively), though the week old PINK will damage the prospects of the new releases.
||BANJO AND DAYS OF TAFREE
The prestigious new release of last Friday, mega star Amitabh Bachchan's Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury directed, ‘PINK, which started on a slow note (4 crore) on the opening day picked up phenomenally the very next day (7.50 crore) and ended the opening weekend netting 22 crore, and given the weekday trends, it is all set emerge as a success, if not hit. PINK is alright in the overseas (read US) grossing £35,000 from UK and $375,000 from the US during the opening weekend (16-18 September).
The second releases of the same Friday (as PINK) Bhushan Kumar's Vikram Bhatt venture starring Emraan and Kriti, 'Raaz Reboot', started better (5.50 crore) than the Big B starrer, but remained flat on the second day, and ended the opening weekend netting 16.50 crore, and given the weekdays trend, is likely to struggle for survival.
