Marking the debut of Akshay Kumar's wife Twinkle Khanna as the producer, the movie is said to be an inspiring account of Muruganantham a school drop-out from Coimbatore who made it his life's mission to provide low-cost sanitary napkins to poor women across rural India.

Helmed by R Balki, the movie also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte with megastar Amitabh Bachchan playing a very intriguing role. That surely makes PADMAN unique and bound to generate huge interest amongst the public and media in general. An overenthusiastic member from the media filled a speculative report of PADMAN being acquired by Sony Pictures for a fabulous amount.

The writer of this report got in touch with his source in Sony Pictures and came to know that the reports of PADMAN getting acquired by the company baseless.

Yes the power of Akshay Kumar as a bankable star is undeniable and we are sure PADMAN will fetch a handsome deal, it's strange to find gossip mills shifting focus from not so ‘serious' affairs to serious business deals..
