India is a land of diverse cultures. We celebrate several festivals throughout the year. And our filmmakers in Bollywood never leave the opportunity of incorporating these festivities in their film's storyline.

In fact films are made with the intension of depicting real life stories on celluloid so that the story reaches out to larger audience.

Ganesh Chaturthi is a very important and auspicious festival of Indians (especially in Maharashtra), and Bollywood being based in Mumbai this festival has always found its place into the storyline of several films.

Time and again we see Ganesh festival used by our filmmakers not just to show the happy and festive mood of the masses but also to depict the pain, suffering, turmoil and overtly tensed situations. In fact if you see mostly this festival is used in our films to depict a period of chaos and how certain people use it for their benefit.

As the entire state would be welcoming Ganpati Bappa tomorrow on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, we bring you 7 times when filmmakers used this festival to highlight tensed situations of their stories.
