Though it has been a good year for the Hindi cinema, thus far, as despite a clash, it has already seen two quite successful films, Hrithik Roshan's KAABIL and Shah Rukh Khan's RAEES, but none of the two can be termed as a clean hit.

Having said that, the next big one, filmmaker Subhash Kapoor's JOLLY LLB 2, featuring Akshay Kumar, which started on a good to decent note netting 13 crore, saw an upsurge in collections and moved to 17 crore on Saturday. Sunday saw a further escalation in collections as the film touched the 20 crore figure, thus netting nearly 50 crore (to be validated) during the opening weekend from India.

The film as also opened on a good note in the overseas, grossing $780,000 (estimated), during the opening weekend from the US (10-12 Feb).

While a good opening is half the work done and the weekdays hold the key, given the very reasonable all inclusive cost (45 crore), there are bright chances that JOLLYY LLB 2 will end up as the first clean hit of 2017, fingers crossed.
