The two major releases of the week, Apex Entertainment's COFFEE WITH D and Dream Merchant Film's venture MAJAZ- AE GHAM –E- DIL KYA KAROON, failed to impress the audience much. While COFFEE WITH D was somewhat better at a few cinemas of Mumbai circuit, MAJAZ demonstrated faint sparkles at some cinemas of U.P (Aligarh, Lucknow and Rampur) due to its story being related to the mentioned areas. Having said that, the five day window (due to KAABIL and RAEES) diminishes the prospects of the two new releases.

OK JAANU AND DANGALOK JAANU AND DANGAL

Meanwhile, Madras Talkies and Dharma Productions' OK JAANU, starring Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor ended the first week netting 18 crore (to be validated) from India. Given that the total investment in the film is 25 crore (12.5 crore production, 11 crore P & M and 1.5 crore miscellaneous), the film is a safe bet for all concerned, as 13 crore satellite right and 5 crore digital rights are already in.

Concluding with the Nitesh Tiwari Aamir Khan starrer, DANGAL, the all-time blockbuster has netted nearly 375 crore (including dubbed versions) in four weeks from India and approaching the $29m mark (gross) in the overseas, with an astounding $12m from the US.
