Sonu Sood is dancing with joy. The Bollywood macho hunk whose dream has come true by working with the legendary Jackie Chan in the Indian-Chinese co-production action-adventure comedy KUNG FU YOGA, just got a pat on his back from CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihlani and the reason for the praise is similar to the experience that King Khan Shah Rukh Khan had with the CBFC.SHAH RUKH KHAN, SONU SOOD AND PAHLAJ NIHALANI
The Stanley Tong directed entertainer which will hit the Indian screens this Friday - 03 February 2017 was reviewed by Censor Board with favourable remarks.
Reportedly, the movie was passed with a UA certificate with just single verbal cut allegedly a comment on a certain religion.
Praising the film CBFC Chief Pahlaj Nihlani has being reportedly quoted saying, “It is commendable that Sonu has brought this big Jackie Chan film to Indian all on his own. It's a fun film, clean and enjoyable. Jackie Chan already has a huge fan following in India. But Sonu will have new fans in China after the film releases. We saw no reason to cut anything.”
The last line caught our immediate attention as we sense a déjà vu experienced during SRK and Alia Bhatt's DEAR ZINDAGI censor ship stories. We reported that DEAR ZINDAGI was passed without any cuts and CBFC praising SRK for giving ‘clean' films where the board members found nothing objectionable to be cut from the film.
DEAR ZINDAGI went on to win accolades and we hope KUNG FU YOGA also makes the audience happy when it releases in India, while Sonu Sood can thank his stars for working with Jackie Chan, sharing something similar with SRK and in a rarest of rare occasion getting praised by CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani who is always under scanner of certain filmmakers.
