Friday's prominent release, Suneel Darshan's EK HASEENA THI EK DEEWANA THA, starring his son, Shiv Darshan, failed to cut much ice with the audience and has minimal chances of making a mark at the box-office.

Checking out the Eid release,  Salman-Zhu Zhu starrer, TUBELIGHT, the film did not open to the usual bumper response associated with Salman films  and failed to show much of an improvement during the opening weekend, netting 64 crore. The weekdays saw a further depreciation in collections, due a predominantly negative feedback from the audience, who are used to a larger than life and almost invincible acts by the super star in his recent flicks, especially those which have been helmed by the TUBELIGHT director  Kabir Khan  with Salman (EK THA TIGER & BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN). As per trade inputs, the film has netted 107 crore, during the first week from India.

Given that the film has been sold for 130-135 crore (all India) to NH Studioz, who have sold of the rights for most territories to sub distributors, it will be a loss making venture (almost 50 percent loss on investment) for all concerned, barring the producers, who are sitting on a huge table profit.

TUBELIGHT has not performed well in the overseas grossing $6m with £265,000 from UK and $930,000 from the US, during the Eid weekend (23-25 June).
