Till few years back Bollywood was a male dominated industry. But now the scenario is changing rapidly. Not just our B-town ladies are making their presence felt on International platform but they are also breaking all the stereotypes in this male –dominated industry. Right from being a stunt woman, composing music to helming the entire film, these women are doing everything that was earlier tagged as “not their cup of tea.”

On the occasion of International Women's Day we bring you 8 terrific women filmmakers who proved that they are at par with their male counterparts or perhaps even better than them.

Nandita Das:
She made her debut as a director in 2008 with FIRAAQ. The film revolved around multiple stories interweaved together. The film was based on thousand true stories and went on to win many International accolades. Nandita has now taken up the humongous task of making a biopic on Saadat Hasan Manto, greatest writer of short stories in South Asian history. Manto's life is not an easy chapter to capture in a 2 hour film, but if Nandita has taken up this daunting task then we are pretty sure that she won't disappoint us.
