He is no ‘lucky' to be born with the ‘silver screen' spoon (born in a successful film fraternity family), nor he is ‘freaky'lingly good looking like any hunk. He is just a simpleton from a humble beginning. The terrific journey of Nawazuddin Siddiqui from ‘gullyboy' to ‘posterboy' is something.

Born and brought up in a small town in UP, Nawazuddin Siddiqui hailed from a family who struggled to make ends meet. After picking up a handful of odd jobs including working at a chemist and as a watchman, he finally enrolled in the National School of Drama. The talent got noticed in Aamir Khan's starrer SARFAROSH (remember the aasman mein lakho taare character), BLACK FRIDAY and PEEPLI LIVE gave him good exposure and he was taken seriously. KAHAANI was followed by GANGS OF WASSEYPUR series and things changed.

The character artiste was now a lead protagonist and was at par with powerhouse Khans in blockbusters like KICK, BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN and RAEES. Nawazuddin streamlined his reach by properly balancing between mainstream and out of the box. While featuring in the previously listed blockbusters, Nawazuddin nurtured his acting instincts and dared to give it wicked and evil wings in dark thrillers like RAMAN RAGHAV 2.0 playing a dreaded psychopath serial killer.

The world of entertainment, glamour and fashion media didn't shy away to think different and above from the routine glam and glitz and featured Nawaz on their cover.

The picture says it all. The title 'The Importance of Being Nawazuddin Siddiqui' in one of the pictures here truly establishes the terrific journey of Nawazuddin Siddiqui, first noticed as a ‘gullyboy' in SARFAROSH (1999) has now turned into a ‘posterboy'.
