Bollywood Box Office Report of The Week: 28th September 2017
September 28, 2017 10:21:20 AM IST By Abid, Glamsham Editorial
This week’s top release is David Dhawan’s JUDWAA 2, starring Varun Dhawan, which is a reboot of the super hit JUDWAA featuring Salman, Karisma and Rambha. Needless to add that the film will embark on a bumper initial (14-15 crore), both in India and part of the overseas, and end up with a huge extended holiday weekend haul.
JUDWAA 2 MOVIE STILLS
The other listed releases (some may not even make it!) make for an interesting read with titles like YEH HAI GADDAR DIL, CRD, ISIS-ENEMIES OF HUMANITY, DREAM ZINDAGI etc. One does not have to be soothsayer to predict that JUDWAA 2 will exterminate all the aforementioned flicks.
HAEENA PARKAR, BHOOMI, NEWTON and THE FINAL EXIT
The three major releases of last week, Sanjay Dutt’s BHOOMI, Shraddha Kapoor starrer HASEENA PARKAR, Rajkummar Rao’s NEWTON did not quite start on a good note. However, despite being the slowest off the block, NEWTON soon set its own pace and very much as expected, surpassed the bigger ventures (cost and mounting wise) BHOOMI and HASEENA PARKAR. Coming to the stats, during the opening weekend NEWTON netted 7 crore, BHOOMI managed almost a similar total, while HASEENA PARKAR was way back at 4.50 crore. As things stand and if the weekday trend is anything to go by, NEWTON is all set to succeed at the box-office, but unfortunately the same cannot be said about BHOOMI or HASEENA PARKAR.
The other releases of the week, THE FINAL EXIT and JD have been rejected.

DADDY and POSTER BOYS
The third release of the same week, Rishi-Paresh starrer PATEL KI PUNJABI SHAADI has seen a legal separation from the audience from the first show itself and has barely netted 2.50 crore during the opening week from India.

Checking out Milan Luthria’s Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Ileana D’Cruz and Vidyut Jammwal starrer BAADSHAHO, the film barely managed 1.50 crore, thus netting 70 crore in three weeks from India and may be lucky to be a coverage fare, after accounting for non-theatrical rights.
