Siddharth Roy Kapur, addressed a session at Jio Mami last week in the capacity of a trustee, the producer shared insights into the evolution of cinema and audience at large. He also shared his perspective on the changing economics of filmmaking in India.

Siddharth represents Indian Cinema at various levels from being a renowned producer to owning the title of being the President of Film & Television Producers Guild of India and a trustee of the Mumbai Film Festival (MAMI).

Siddharth Roy Kapur said, "We have to give audiences a reason to come to the cinema. Either present them with a film like BAAHUBALI or a must watch in theatres like DANGAL. Or alternatively, deliver them with films that garner strong positive word of mouth that would draw audiences to theatres. Then there are films like PINK, NEERJA, and KAHAANI, that in spite of being easily available on DVD's and online pull viewers to cinema halls owing to the post-release buzz. I think it's very important to create that type of cinema. A film today has to be great, being sweet and nice is not enough to draw footfalls."

Siddharth Roy Kapur has a long-standing relationship with Indian audience as the filmmaker has treated them with films like RANG DE BASANTI, CHENNAI EXPRESS, BARFI, JODHA AKHBAR, CHILLAR PARTY, KAI PO CHE and the latest in the list being DANGAL which went on the become a record-breaking blockbuster.
