After PYAAR IMPOSSIBLE, Yash Raj Films is all set to release their second outing of this year BADMAASH COMPANY. Produced by Aditya Chopra this crime thriller is written & directed by actor-turned-director Parmeet Sethi. This is Parmeet's debut film as a director.

BADMAASH COMPANY stars Shahid Kapoor and Anushka Sharma (of RAB NE BANA DI JODI fame) in lead roles. The movie also stars well-known stand-up comedian Vir Das and introduces Indian Idol 3 finalist Meiyang Chang.

The music of this movie is composed by Pritam and lyrics penned by Anvita Dutt.

BADMAASH COMPANY is slated to release on 16th April 2010.

Synopsis:

Life in the 1990's was remarkably different for the average Indian. Consumerism had not set in. It was devoid of most of the luxuries of the West. In fact everything "imported" was good, and everything Indian, passe.

BADMAASH COMPANY is an extraordinary story set in the 1990's in middle class Bombay (as it was known then), of four ordinary youngsters - Karan (Shahid Kapoor), Bulbul (Anushka Sharma), Zing (Meiyang Chang) and Chandu (Vir Das) - who came together to start an import business of things longed for by yuppie Indians!

What made their venture such a stupendous success was the fact that they found a way to beat the system and soon became the undisputed kings in their business, realising their one dream of making quick money by doing all the wrong things... the right way!

Living the life of champagne wishes and caviar dreams, the four friends discover that to make a business successful you don't need big money.

All you need is a big idea!

With larger then life schemes, the four go on a wild roller-coaster ride into the world of sheer glitz and glamour where the stakes are high and risks even higher!
All was well and hunky dory till one day the four maverick entrepreneurs are forced to shut shop... until they come up yet another perfct plan to beat the system...

Character Sketch:

Shahid Kapoor as Karan:
21, genius, a middle class boy, with a dream to make millions... fast!! But the typical middle class values of his stem and principled father make this dream a distant one. Till one day his 'beautiful mind' thinks up the big Idea' to make it all achlevable! Karan and his friends set out to do all the wrong things... the right way. Their 'Badmaash Company makes the foursome the youngest millionaires in town and they start to live their dream! But friendship and money make uneasy partners. Add to this Karan's fatal flaw - his ego. Will Karan outride his demons as he struggles to keep his love and friendships Intact?

Anushka Sharma as Bulbul:
She Is feisty and fiery, a small town girl, hungry to make It In the big city of dreams, Bombay, And she's not going to let her golden heart stop her. But encounters with the sleazy side of the modeling world force her to abandon her big dream... till she meets Karan, with whom she shares an even bigger dream. Bulbul becomes one of the foursome of 'Badmaash Company' and loses her heart to Karan. In all her unconventional life, this one conventional step takes Bulbul on the roller coaster ride of Karan's Ilfe!

Vir Das as Chandu:

Born to a Sindhi junior artist father and a hairdresser mom. Chandu is the eternal wannabe actor, with a yen for big-breasted women. Yet there is nothing cliche about Chandu. He is sincere in his passion of making it as a leading man in the movies, but tiger' his bitter and dominating father, will have none of It, Life has hit a roadblock except that his best friend is Karan... and in Karan lies the only chance Chandu has of making It big.

Meiyang Chang as Zing:

His 'chunky' eyes are the source of many a friendly jibe, but he's more than just the average boy from Sikkim. He is quintessentially a Bombayite with a big dream. A dream that drowns a lIttle each day, as he hits the bottle in desperate search for his Identity. His life is heading nowhere and his dreams are on hold, until he meets Karan, who has an even bigger dream I Zing becomes one of the foursome In Company' and knows there is no turning back for him!
