 What makes Asambhav-The Impossible so special? Is it because Asambhav is Arjun Rampal's first action film? Is it because Arjum Rampal and Priyanka Chopra will be seen together on the silver screen for the first time? Or is it because this is the first film to be shot in Locarno for 65 days consecutively? Well, all this and more. With the entire film being digitalized, no duplicates have been used while recording. With seven cameras rolling simultaneously, editing this film must have been difficult, but when you see the promos on TV, you know what to expect out of the film. It is a thriller that deals with the theme of espionage. There is no mushy romance in the film. However, the film does have underlying emotions, as emotions are the backbone of Bollywood films. The music has been composed by Viju Shah, who seems to be Rajiv Rai's Lucky Talisman. The movie has been edited very slickly. Produced by Gulshan Rai, the film is slated for a July release. Lyrics of the film have been composed by Sameer.
This espionage story takes birth in Locarno (Switzerland). Mohan Agashe as a high ranking Indian diplomat is kidnapped along with his daughter Kinjal (Dippanita Sharma) while holidaying in Switzerland. And this is the work of mastermind criminal Ansari (Milind Gunaji). Planning a conspiracy of international dimension, Ansari hires the Mabros Mercenaries (Shawar Ali and gang) to kidnap the diplomat and his daughter. They are kept under siege at the Brissago Islands.
What Ansari has in mind is to exchange the diplomat for the international terrorist group Al-Hamas led by Yuzan (Mukesh Rishi). From here, the movie gets more and more interesting and at the same time, complicating. Ansari must pay $50 million to the Mabros Mercenaries in order to obtain Yuzan. The Mabros Mercenaries are unaware of the entire situation. The story weaves more and more webs as this information is mistakenly passed on to the army head quarters. The army then takes a decision of sending Captain Aadit Arya on an undercover mission (code named Asambhav) to Switzerland to investigate the situation and to bring the diplomat back safely. Meanwhile, Ansari takes the help of Sam Hans (Naseeruddin Shah) and Brian (Tom Alter) to pay $50 million to the Mabros Mercenaries. The duo in turn ask Dabral (Asif Zakaria) and his brother to con pop singer Alisha (Priyanka Chopra) and get her involved in the plan.
However,  on their arrival at Locarno, Alisha's friend Shilpa is shot by Ansari and his men. Baffled and perplexed, Alisha runs to the Indian embassy for help. This is when Capt. Aadit comes face to face with Alisha. He offers to help her in her predicament. Capt. Aadit is accompanied by Atul Bhatnagar (Jammel Khan) who being an intelligence officer is unaware about Aadit's true identity or his mission. Arya along with Alisha and Atul poses as a Journalist to get to the core of the matter. Aadit then finds out that there is something wrong within the embassy itself. Parmar (Yashpal Sharma) is the security in charge at the Indian Embassy in Locarno.  A friend to Sam Hans, his ulterior motive is to get the $50 million for himself. Thus the real battle is between Sam Hans, Ansari, the Mabros and Yuzan. It's all about the money! This further complicates Aadit's mission as he has two tasks ahead of him: to rescue the diplomat and his daughter and to wipe off these international criminals. But there is nothing contradictory about the movie title. What seems Asambhav initially becomes sambhav at the end of the film. This movie will be truly enjoyed with popcorn and cold drink in hand! A mind boggling film, Asambhav will appeal to all audiences as Asambhav is "an illusion of reality".
