One Man with courage makes a majority. One such man is Uday Shinde (Vivek Oberoi), an aspiring cop, whose biggest strengths are his
values and ethics. His dream of becoming a police officer and serve his country, is accompanied by a fierce determination and drive to make this dream
come true. Uday's aspirations are put to test several times and each time he rises like the phoenix.
Even as he courageously treads on his chosen path, he is confronted by the face of evil in the form of a police officer, Shankar (Atul Kulkarni).
Shankar is a psychotic cop. Life has taught him many bitter lessons and cynicism is now in his blood. Shankar's deviously selfish intentions are almost as
strong as Uday's selfless noble ones. Dare anyone rub him the wrong way…! But Uday Shinde did! Shankar now lives to see Uday Shinde die.
Indeed just as each coin has two sides, society has two faces - that of the good and evil. Such as that of Uday and Shankar! But truth miraculously has the
strength to combat any hurdle, a strength that manifests itself in the fearless Uday.
Kaveri (Diya Mirza), is a TV host who loves Uday Shinde as much as she loves life. She is aware that her beloved Uday is treading on a
dangerous path and thus does all he can to turn away her. But true love never understands the language of fear. Kaveri knows how to wait and win!
Dum also has Mohan (Sushant), who breathes the same air of passion as Uday, to become a cop and serve the country. Apart from this
passion, what binds them together is a strong bond of friendship. And Deshmukh (Govind Namdeo), a politician with a penchant for power is
what he is all about. He uses his lawful and mostly unlawful sources to meet his ends. Ends are all that counts, is his philosophy of life.
When the mafia, politics and the police go hand in hand, men like Babu Kasai (Yashpal Sharma) go strength to strength. For Babu, every life
has a price, a price for which he can take a life. But one day he is assigned a wrong life… the life of Uday Shinde. What if the tables turn this time? Also there is
Raj Dutt Sharma (Mukesh Rishi), a man of morals and principles. He has seen it all and done it all as a cop and he believes in doing things at
the right time, in the right way.
Dum is the optimistic revelation of one good man, who like the sun holds in his realm the power to lend its shine to the whole universe, and rob it of its
darkness. E Niwas' DUM is a spellbinding narrative of the grit and will power of a common man Uday, Dum reveals his travails as he
overcomes all the barriers that come in the way of achieving his goals of fighting the injustice and evil that blackens society.
