Director Kunal Kohli's second film "Hum Tum" produced under the banner of Yash Raj Films seems to be on the same story line of the English film "When Harry Met Sally". His directorial Debut,Mujhse Dosti Karoge failed to create an impact on the box office.However, HumTum looks a little different. Apart from Rani's cute hairdo, Saif looks cute too with his boyish walk and Cartoonist attitude. Saif Ali Khan as Karan Kapoor works as a cartoonist with India's leading newspaper. As the title suggests, Hum Tum are his creations where Hum is obviously the Boy and Tum is the girl.

A cartoon columnist, his fictional cartoon characters represent the world as Karan sees it. The world for Karan is divided solely into two parts: Girls Vs boys. His motto in life is "Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus".

Rani Mukherjee plays the

character of Rhea. Karan and Rhea happen to meet In Amsterdam. Their first meeting does not ignite any sparks between the two. Quite contrary to expectations, they don't strike the right chord. As they differ on everything, Karan senses that the situation is getting out of control. To make things better, Karan takes matters in his own hands and Kisses Rhea, albeit innocently. But things turn from bad to worse and Rhea never forgets that kiss.
Rhea is a globetrotter and she makes all diverse places her home. From the streets of New York, to the galli's of Mumbai, Rhea is all over the place. As fate has it, Rhea meets Karan again within a span of 6 months.

The setting is New York. Old memories surface as Rhea remembers the kiss in Amsterdam. To make matters even, she takes her revenge and in the process Karan loses his girlfriend.Time lapses. It's been 10 years since Karan and Rhea met in Amsterdam. On and off, their relationship grows and develops.

They eventually become friends. Karan supports Rhea through her hard times. Karan is egoistical and stubborn, but beneath that show of machismo, he is a softy. Rhea is unstable, and sensitive when compared to Karan. A hard life with ups and downs, Karan becomes her pillar of strength.

However, when Karan reaches the peak of his career, Rhea cannot digest that. Things turn sour between them once again. He even tries playing matchmaker by setting up Rhea with one of his friends, but pop goes the bubble. If this is a "When Harry Met Sally" adaptation, then our guess is correct. Rhea and Karan fall in love and live happily together despite their differences.Also starring Kiron Kher and Rishi Kapoor, the music of the film has been composed by Jatin -Lalit who mostly produce the music for all films under the banner of Yash Raj films.

Slated for a May 28 Release, Hum Tum is eagerly awaited by all Saif and Rani fans. Talking about the film, Rani Mukherjee in an interview confesses, Kunal Kohli's "Hum Tum" with Saif is...About Saif and me. We were really comfortable with each other. Before "Hum Tum" we had only met socially. I enjoyed his comic timing and that worked to the film's benefit..."
