So what if Karisma Kapoor and Amisha Patel are no longer the most happening names on the scene but producer Suneel Darshan is optimistic that his MERE JEEVAN SAATHI, will leave the audiences wanting for more. "The biggest advantage about the film is that those who'll go to watch it will do so expecting the least from it and come back with loads of appreciation." Director Suneel Darshan, began his foray into cinema in 1988 by producing the film INTAQUAAM. He also produced his brother Dharmesh Darshan's directorial debut LOOTERE as well as his HAAN MAINE BHI PYAAR KIYA. Turning to direction himself with Ajay in 1996, he went on to direct as well as produce TALAASH, JAANWAR and EK RISHTAA - The Bond of Love. ANDAAZ, produced by him and starring two international beauty queens Lara Dutta and Priyanka Chopra was the biggest blockbuster of 2003.The year 2005 is a watershed year for Suneel Darshan with his directorial venture MERE JEEVAN SAATHI. MERE JEEVAN SAATHI, according to Suneel Darshan, has taken three years in the making, which he feels is definitely not a long period of time considering the time taken by most big films. "Let's accept the fact that a majority of big films take a period of two years under production. If it has taken a little more time there's nothing unusual about it," Suneel says. while BARSAAT A Sublime Love Story and DOSTI Friends Forever, produced and directed by him are both slated to hit the marquee soon.
Vicky (Akshay Kumar) is a talented singer waiting for the right break. His college sweetheart Anjali (Amisha Patel) stands by him through thick or thin. When he sings his signature song 'Mere Jeevan Saathi' at his first rock concert, Vicky is an instant hit. So impressed are show promoters Morani-Torani (Gulshan Grover and Ashish Vidyarthi) that they offer him a hefty advance to do their future concerts. Even as Vicky is considering their offer he gets a call that changes his life forever. Angel Music, one of the biggest and best music companies in the world, offers him an exclusive contract that will turn Vicky into an international rock star. Vicky returns the advance to an enraged Morani-Torani and jets off abroad for his first concert with Angel. Here he meets Natasha, (Karisma Kapoor), the beautiful and enigmatic CEO of the company (doesn't it sound something like AITRAAZ with Priyanka Chopra & Kareena Kapooor). She floors him with her charm and warmth. What he does not know is that Natasha has had a crush on him from college days or that she was the anonymous writer of his evergreen song Mere Jeevan Saathi. While Natasha's love for him borders on the obsessive; Anjali's love for him is trusting and pure. Two women, totally dissimilar to each other love Vicky with equal intensity. Vicky is torn apart. His love, life, even his music is at stake.
A heartrending choice must be made - a shattering decision must be taken - that will change three lives forever.
Who will take the final step?
Who will decide Vicky's jeevan saathi?
Will it be Natasha who will do anything for the sake of love - even take a life?
Will it be Anjali who will do everything for the sake of love even give up her own life?
Or will it be Vicky, who will do anything and everything to save his one true love? Mere Jeevan Saathi - Surrender to Love
