Boman Irani plays Deepak Suri, the editor of a leading daily newspaper. He is a kind and affable man who, inspite of feeling exasperated by a rebellious Madhavi, is genuinely fond of her. Deepak Sun represents the good yet weak and ineffective face of rank commercialism which has defaced the noble profession of journalism.
Upyendra Limaye plays Inspector Arun Bhosle, an honest cop who pays a very high price for his integrity. His symbiotic working relationship with Vinayak Mane is a paradigm shift from the corrupt society which they, ironically, serve.
Page 3 takes a behind-the-scenes look at the lifestyles of the A-list celebrities in metro cities. It explores the networking and the power play between the air-kissing, champagne-swilling celebrities and the media, all witnessed through the eyes of an entertainment journalist, Madhavi Sharma - played by Konkana Sensharma, winner of the National award for the film, Mr. & Mrs. lyer. While Madhavi parties with the elite, she takes the last train back to her rented apartment to write about the night's events that make headlines the next morning.
Page 3 tells the story of Madhavi and her friends Gayatri (Tara Sharma), a struggling Bollywood actress and Pearl (Sandhya Mridul) a bold n' sassy, no-nonsense talking air hostess who wants to marry a rich tycoon. The other essential characters include Boman Irani who plays the role of a powerful newspaper editor. Atul Kulkarni plays a crime reporter who finds Madhavi's brand of journalism demeaning. Bikram Saluja plays a Bollywood star and Gayatri's love interest while Rehaan Engineer plays a gay make-up artist and best friend to Madhavi.
Page 3 will make you laugh and it will make you cry, as you witness the plastic life of high society through the eyes of Madhavi Sharma. Given a chance to shatter the myth, does she surrender to this superficial world or rebel?
