Though Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhotra charm, this predictable and unnecessarily long and prolonged rom com wrapped in such a boring mumbo jumbo about time travel that we finally just don't care.

Inspired from 'number' of time travel flicks and named after the peppy song from Shammi Kapoor starrer from the early sixties CHINA TOWN, first timer Nitya Mehra's BAAR BAAR DEKHO N tries to disarm the run of the mill love story with a pinch towards time and time you need to spend for your valentine.

The presentation is interesting but as the 'time' passes by the director ends up in telling a superficial tale on how a genius mathematician Jai Varma (Sidharth Malhotra) gets god damn lucky in getting chances one after another to rework his relationships with his wife Diya Varma (Katrina Kaif).

Nitya Mehra's silver screen education on love and relationship however fails to give its own 'independent' explanation.

The candy gloss feel good look as ordered by the stable of Dharma productions and as said earlier Sidhrath and Katrina are the best elements but they fail to rise themselves from this snore bore.

Jai Verma (Sidharth Malhotra) is a genius mathematician who dreams to teach numbers at Oxford. His childhood friend Diya (Katrina Kaif) is a qualified artiste but more of a traditional Indian girl whose only dream is a sweet little home with his dear Jai. Jai turns into a spoil sport in Diya's life and quarrels with his future wife just before their wedding.

With a huge degree of suspension of belief ( or should I say 'kala chasma' (blind eye) to cinematic liberty) Jai is gifted with this remarkable talent to travel forward in his life.

So we see Jai ten days ahead in Thailand for his honeymoon. Followed by a two years leap in London, working in Oxford and taking pregnant Diya to hospital, then bouncing 16 years ahead signing divorce papers.

Sri Rao story which seems to be based on the common day to day adage we use in life 'dekhtein hi dekhtein pal kaise beet gaya' (how time flies) and 'lagta hai jaise ki kal ki baat hai' (it seems just a day ago), the philosophy is interesting and the writers had tried to twine it with the time travel cinematic format but the sequences are routine, boring and uninteresting. The first half is however bearable, the second half becomes a snore more with the unconvincing perplexed look and make up of Sidharth. After a while when Jai wakes up, audience beg him to go to sleep.

More alarming is the one sidedness of the plot where Jai is supposed to rectify everything and Diya is perfectly perfect all-time. May be the writers have the amazing capacity to clap with one hand.

All not that bad though a couple of genuine good moments with the best being Jai's different reasons for loving Diya and finally getting it right in the end are superb.

Sidharth and Katrina look extremely good together. Their older versions are scary but overall they are a delight to watch on screen. Katrina looks ravishing and Sidharth improves as an actor.

Cameos by Sarika, Ram Kapoor, Sayani Gupta and Rajit Kapur are good. Technically a polish product with rich production values, BAAR BAAR DEKHO also serves good in its music by Amaal Mallik, Arko, Badshah, Jasleen Royal and Bilal Saeed.

In the end, if you are planning to take some 'time' out with your valentine for BAAR BAAR DEKHO, make sure he/she is the biggest fan of Sidharth or Katrina and you just want to give your 'time' to her. Otherwise wait for the TV premiere or DVD.
