Pantaloon entered the film circuit with 'Na Tum Jaano Na Hum' featuring Hrithik Roshan,
Esha Deol and Saif Ali Khan. 'Chura Liya Hai Tumne' is the second production from the
Pantaloon (Pantaloon Rave). In this slick flick Esha is sustained while the lead hero is swapped with
Hrithik's brother-in-law - Zayed Khan. Just after his announcement and the film happening, Zayed
was in the lime light for most of the time. At times, even for brawls. CLHT can be said as a launch pad for
Zayed and a re-launch of Esha. CLHT is directed by Sangeeth Sivan.
The story revolves around Tina (Esha Deol). She meets Vijay (Zayed Khan) in Goa
and they fell is love (as expected). But what goes ahead is not the same. One fine day Tina is summoned to Bangkok
for reasons she knows nothing about. And Vijay follows her offering a helping hand to her. In Bangkok Tina meets
Deepak Chopra (Salil Ankola), who is the officer in the Indian Embassy out there. Tina is informed
that her uncle was wanted for a loot of a hundred million rupees. She is taken aback with the information and life
becomes hell for her. The reason; the other members; Om (Gulshan Grover), Sheena
(Rakhi Sawant) and Chingaar (Vijay Raaz), involved in the loot are also in Bangkok to get the
money as Tina appears to be the only link to the wealth looted by her uncle. But there is more to it. When caught amongst
these looters, she looks upon her love interest Vijay for help, only to face the horror. Vijay is not himself; he is actually
Prakash Yogi and is one of the members of the same gang. Tina now has nowhere to go in this alien land.
CLHT definitely has a non-regular story line with an effective narrative. And thankfully, there is not much of
romance happening in the story. Incidentally, it can be called as a well rehashed film, since it seems to be inspired by
the 1963 flick CHARADE featuring Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn.
Esha Deol could have worked harder; Zayed was good as a debutant. Sangeeth Sivan's
direction is better than okay. The music by Himesh Reshamiya is fairly good with couple of songs like
'Mirchi' and the title track appearing in the charts. All in all, CLHT has more positive points than many
other recent releases, but might not see good initial because of the final ODI match between India and Australia.
