HUM HAI RAAHI CAR KE
when it was conceptualized seemed to be inspired from its hugely successful peer of the same name HUM HAIN RAHI PYAR KE, and the song from HHRPK - Bombayee se gayee Poona
- seems to be the inspiration for the film HUM HAI RAAHI CAR KE, as it is a road film that is a saga of road journey from Mumbai to Pune and whatever happens in between. However, it does not stand in comparison in any manner to its illustrative peer, and falls flat on its pace.
The film is a saga of two friends - and yes they are a boy and a girl - who get caught in one nightmarish situation after another as they venture out on their journey from Mumbai to Pune. And the lead pair of Adah Sharma
and Dev Goel
are chaddi buddies
, till the cupid strikes them during the course of the journey and it again underlines the premise that a boy and a girl cannot have a platonic relationship. Does it remind of a dialogue of a blockbuster movie which goes like - Ek ladka aur ek ladki kabhi dost nahin hote

What is appalling is the template used to create humour, template becoming sort of a commonality in supposed laugh riots. In case of HHRCK as well one finds Bollywood obsession with primates manifest through a man in a gorilla costume in a jungle, a Juhi Chawla
as a pan-chewing doctor who talks in sign language and there also is a character named Suresh Almadi.
Instead of watching the movie it would be advisable to go on a road trip from Mumbai to Pune and back. At least one would have a fresh mind to begin the new week.
