Let's begin with the central character of Ishaan (John Abraham). John is visually uncomfortable in this role. And his body language says it all. Anushka (Chitrangada Singh) on the other hand looks like she has walked in from the sets of INKAAR to here. Nothing defining about the character she is supposed to play. Raima Sen, seen on the screen after a long time, is given no role. Prachi Desai who plays Gauri, Ishaan's neighbour has such a sorry role that you end up feeling bad for this talented actress.
She almost forces Ishaan to say a yes to her when she knows his ex-girlfriend is having his baby. I mean, how cruel can a woman get? To top it, going to Paris is shown like you are making a trip to Virar.
Nothing adds up in this movie that tries to show a man who is a commitment phobic, who is just interested in himself and nothing else. In fact the beginning scene is so amateur and immature that you wonder whether the movie has already begun. It soon jumps to 25 years later!
John's Casanova image worked in DESI BOYZ, here he falls flat. He just gives one expression throughout - a lop-sided grin. His job at a music company is sketchy at best and how he promotes an artist if he is no more working there is a mystery.
