JACKPOT has no plot. It's just slamming of scenes together. At the helm is director Kaizad Gustad, a spunky fellow I must say to lend his name as director and writer of dialogues.
He makes Naseeruddin Shah mouth inane dialogues in some weird getups. Naseer is game. But in some scenes you do see him twitching, wondering what the game is all about.
The dialogues are like this: ''Yeh plot bahut complex hai,''
says Makarand Deshpande, who plays a cop in Goa. His Konkani is also atrocious. ''Maka shaq asa,''
he says in one scene. What he means to say is, ''I have a doubt.'' In konkanni it would be, ''Maka dubao aha.''
There are many such words thrown into a Hindi sentence which makes a khichdi
of the language. In one line I clearly heard the guy spit out a filthy abuse in Konkani. But I guess it would have bounced off the head of the censors.
Wait, there is also Sunny Leone who was meant to titillate but is actually a huge turn-off. So what was the point of plastering her all over the posters?
Makarand was right. This plot is complex!
