
Irrfan makes his Hollywood debut!

More and more of our desi actors are finding a place for themselves in Hollywood films. The latest to make his foray in Hollywood is actor Irrfan Khan, who has been signed to play a very important character in a film called PARTITION. The film is being directed by a Canadian and has been scripted by Vic Sareen, who was instrumental in Irrfan bagging the film. The film is a human-interest story portrayed against the backdrop of the 1947 partition and its impact on the peace process. Irrfan plays the role of a Sikh who detests Muslims and wants the partition to take place. Incidentally, Irffan is the only Indian actor in the cast. The film will be shot in Canada and Chandigarh, and the shooting begins next week in Canada.
Irrfan has an interesting line-up of films in the next few months. Among his forthcoming releases are a comedy called, SAARE SAATH PHERE with Juhi Chawla and Vivek Agnihtori's thriller, CHOCOLATE. He has also recently finished the shooting of Mira Nair's THE NAME SAKE, in which he is paired opposite Tabu. Then there is Naseeruddin Shah's thriller, UDAAN, in which he will play the role of a young man who has an intense relationship with an older woman.
