
IQBAL gets ent. Tax exemption

Subhash Ghai's IQBAL directed by Nagesh Kukunoor which was released on 26th August has got an entertainment tax exemption from Delhi State on meritious grounds by the Chief Minister Mrs. Sheila Dixit. Mrs. Dixit expressed her views and said that the film should be shown to all students, children and families all over India as it conveys the theme of triumph of the human spirit. A complete family entertainer, IQBAL is a film about ambition, aspiration and achievement and is still running successfully in multiplexes across the country.
Commenting on this gesture by Mrs. Sheila Dixit, Mr. Subhash Ghai added, "I thank the CM Mrs., Sheila Dixit and her team for this gesture and I hope this will inspire other states to exempt such films so that they can reach small towns of India too".
IQBAL consists of an ensemble cast of Naseeruddin Shah, Girish Karnad, Shweta Prasad, Yatin Karyekar, Prateeksha Londkar and in the role of IQBAL Shreyas Talpade. IQBAL was released under the new banner - Mukta Searchlights Films, which was set up in July 2005 to promote multiplex films and give the new and up-coming filmmakers a platform to showcase their talent. IQBAL is written and directed by Nagesh Kukunoor.
