Acclaimed Bengali director, Rituparno Ghosh, is likely to zero in on Sanjay Dutt to play the main lead opposite Vidya Balan, in his next film LONDON SUMMER. Ghosh is said to have expressed a keen desire to work with the actor for the film which is based on relationships and scheduled to commence shooting in May next year. According to producer, Sunil Saini, the role demands a matured and intense actor who handles the role with the kind of intensity it deserves. “We unanimously agreed that Sanjay would be the ideal choice for the role,” Saini reveals.
Saini adds that Sanjay who is currently shooting for friend Sanjay Gupta’s ZINDA, has also reciprocated his interest in the film and will be given a narration in the next three days. “The Sanjay-Vidya pairing will be something to look forward to,” he adds.
Saini has another film with Rituparno Ghosh titled, MEMSAAB. The film being made in Bengali, is a romantic musical with Prasenjit and Vidya Balan, playing the lead roles. Meanwhile, Saini has signed director Ashiwini Choudhary to direct another film for his banner. Choudhary who had last directed SISKIYAAN for the same banner, has been recently signed to direct a film for Mukta Arts.
