The controversy over Anu Malik being upset about Himesh Reshamiya's title song in HUM KO DEEWANA KAR GAYE, seems to be far from over with rumors making the rounds of the music industry that Anu Malik had decided to opt out of the contract with T-series. While Anu Malik has been maintaining a conspicuous silence over the issue, refusing to comment, the C.E.O. of T-series, flatly denied that Malik had cancelled the contract with the company. "There is no question of Anu Malik canceling any contract with T-series. In fact we had a music sitting a couple of days ago for a forthcoming film. The truth is that Anu Malik is working with us in three more films," Bhushan Kumar reveals.
According to him, the controversy over the title song of HUM KO DEEWANA... is unlikely to resurface since things were sorted out amicably with Malik on the same day. "He agreed as much as we did that the title song was recorded by Himesh Reshamiya only after taking him into confidence. In fact, he told me very clearly that he was not in any way upset with it," Kumar adds.
Kumar also denies that Malik is upset over the "undue publicity" given to the title song of the film. "It is great that Himesh's title track has spiraled to the top of the popularity charts but it has nothing to do with us giving prominence to it. The success of a musical score is something that the public decides," he says.
Another rumor doing the rounds is that Malik has now introduced a fresh clause in his contract with T-series, which says that he will be the solo music director of the film. However Bhushan Kumar maintains that the clause has been there in all of Malik's contracts for more than two years now, ever since the music release of MUJHSE SHAADI KAROGI. "It is common knowledge that Malik changed his contract with all his producers after the music release of MUJHSE SHAADI KAROGI. The film had five of Sajid-Wajid's songs which had upset him, after which he changed the terms of his contract."
Meanwhile, Bhushan Kumar is all excited about Anu Malik's music in the Salman-Akshay starrer JAANEMAN. "It is a unique musical score and we are expecting it to be a total sell-out from day one. Anu Malik is likely to scale new heights of success when the music releases in June this year," he says.
