Never mind the fairly average opening to AAP KI KHATIR, director Dharmesh Darshan is upbeat about the box-office prospects of the film in the coming few days. "It is a sweet two hour, five minute film that can appeal to both the gentry and the masses. The film is not the preachy type which philosophizes and ends up being an intensely emotional affair," he says, indirectly referring to a recently released film.
According to him, the humor in the film is particularly finding a tremendous appeal among the audiences. "I just got a call from Akshaye that the film has got a great opening in places like Ghaziabad. It is an indicator that the film has appealed to both the gentry and the masses. The comedy in the film is the not the banana peel kind that is lately seen in a majority of films. You won't find characters running around in underpants to evoke laughter. It is the down-to-earth kind of humor that was once upon witnessed films like CHASM-E-BADOOR," he points out.
Incidentally, a majority of Dharmesh Darshan's films have opened to a great response at the box-office including DHADKAN and RAJA HINDUSTANI. One will have to watch how far, AAP KI KHATIR, incites the curiosity of the audiences.
