After a deaf mute cricketer in "Iqbal", Shreyas Talpade will be seen in another heart-wrenching drama in "Mein Phir Aaunga", based on the real story of a young chess player who died of degenerative muscular dystrophy in 2004.

"Mein Phir Aaunga" is the screen adaptation of Mumbai-based author Shrikant Murthy's "The Last Hurrah", where he chronicled Venkatesh's suffering and struggle.

In his last days, Venkatesh expressed his desire to donate his vital body parts and his mother Sujatha made a mercy killing appeal to the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

The court rejected her appeal, but ordered the setting up of a committee to reconsider the matter just a day before Venkatesh's death.

His death initiated an intense, emotive debate on the ethics of euthanasia.

"Mercy killing is a universal issue. The story is a tearjerker that moves from sorrow to sorrow and strives to uphold universal human values not only to be seen but to be experienced collectively by men, women and children alike," said Dinanath Kolambkar, producer of the film.

Kolambkar obtained the filming rights from both Sujatha and Murthy.

To be made in Hindi, the film will be directed by Krishnakanth Pandya who made "Panaah", "Bedardi" and "Kyonki Hum Deewane Hain".

Moushumi Chatterjee will play Shreyas' mother in the film and Khayyam will score the music.

"Mein Phir Aaunga" will be shot in Mumbai and Hyderabad over the next couple of months and is expected to reach the theatres by year-end.
