Celebrities endorsing brands is nothing new on the professional front today. More and more advertising agencies are roping in celebs to endorse their respective brands. The cult of celebrity endorsements is the latest ad mantra today and it has become even more popular with real life parents and kids sharing screen space in reel life.
A refined oil has roped in Sharmila Tagore with Soha Ali Khan while the Kent water purifier has dream girl Hema Malini with her daughter Ahana Deol in it. Also, Patudi and Saif have starred in the Lays ad while another father son duo Amitabh and Abhishek have endorsed Versa while Feroz Khan and Fardeen Khan were seen in a pan-masala commercial.
One of the main reasons to use stars in the parent-child format could be the fact that they work as an effective time saving tool for ads that require these relationships to be portrayed as a part of their concept. For instance the idea behind the Versa ad was to convey to the consumers that it was a spacious family car and Big B and Abhishek fitted the bill perfectly.
