Film star Shilpa Shetty has refuted rumours that she was set to feature in international film "Babel" opposite Hollywood heartthrob Brad Pitt.

"Shilpa has not signed any international film as yet," the star's spokesperson Dale Bhagwagar told IANS.

The rumour about her role in "Babel", directed by the Mexican filmmaker Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, started doing rounds when a reputed international website, imdb.com (International Movie Data Base) incorrectly mentioned Shilpa's name in the film's cast.

A number of websites also indicated that Shilpa would be playing the role of an Indian girl, named Sameera Sehgal, in the film that also stars Cate Blanchett - best known for her role in Shekhar Kapur's "Elizabeth".

Denying knowledge of who might have been behind this mistake, Bhagwagar added that he has written to the website to rectify the information.

"Soon after returning from her vacation in New York, Shilpa got busy at the Mehboob Studio, shooting a song for Anil Sharma's 'Apne', while her nationwide 'Romanov' advertisement campaign will start any time now," Bhagwagar said.
