Shahrukh Khan is rightly called the 'The Baadshah of Bollywood'. His inexhaustible zest for life and work puts him in a different league altogether. Even the DON's back injury couldn't slow him down. Nothing in the world can break his stride it seems. A muse to many, King Khan's journey in the make belief world of cinema is truly inspiring.
"If I had the power to change anything, I would add a few more extra hours in a day. I truly want more time," he is quoted as saying in an interview.
King Khan turns 41 today... The reticent actor prefers a quiet birthday with close family and friends. The health of his kids (Aryan and Suhana) is of paramount importance to him and this is the best birthday gift he could ever ask for, he informed a daily.
Born in Delhi's Talwar nursing home, SRK studied at St Columbia's High School and graduated from Hans Raj College- Delhi. He later completed his Masters in Mass Communication at the Mass Communication Research Centre, Jamia Milia Islamia.
That he started his career with Television serials FAUJI, CIRCUS and DIL DARIYA is a known fact. He stormed his way in Bollywood with his debut film DEEWANA in 1992. Whether it's the Sunder of CHAMATKAR, Raj of DILWALE DULHANIA LE JAAYENGE or Rahul of DIL TO PAGAL HAI, Shahrukh has always charmed the audience. To play negative roles (BAAZIGAR and DARR) at the very onset of one's career is also very challenging, something not every actor would dare to do. His latest films KABHIE ALVIDA NA KEHNA and DON may have won him mixed views but SRK seems completely unfazed by criticism and comparisons.
To actually sit and pen down his journey to date seems like a never-ending saga since there is so much to 'Shahrukh Khan'.
Mustaq Sheikh recently launched his biography titled STILL READING KHAN. Moreover Shahrukh's autobiography is on the anvil. Despite his grueling schedule, he manages to read bedtime stories to his kids and drops them to school whenever he can. His love marriage to Gauri is no secret. The fighter that SRK is, he overcame all obstacles and did everything to convince her parents. If he celebrates Eid, he also celebrates Diwali and other festivals with the same gusto.
There is something that SRK never forgets to say in all award functions... 'God bless all'. His friends and fellow actors have the highest regards for him. Most of the people he's worked with say that the actor is large hearted and selfless. He has always believed in the power of positive thinking. "One should always think big and believe that he's the best", he recently said on a talk show. A workaholic that he is, he barely sleeps and is a complete game freak. A self-confessed chain smoker, he intends to quit smoking at the earliest.
He is here to rule hearts forever it seems. The line "I am the King"- DON seems tailor made for him. His forthcoming films include Shimit Amin's CHAK DE INDIA and Farah Khan's OM SHANTI OM.
On his 41st birthday, we just pray for his health and success. Glamsham wishes him loads of love and luck in the years to come...
Keep rocking King Khan!
