As per reports in a daily, Mira Nair will be making a short film to promote AIDS awareness. The film stars Saif Ali Khan, Vidya Balan and Shiney Ahuja, though none of them have allotted dates as yet. The film is being made as a part of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Initiative to fight AIDS. Apart from Mira Nair, the Union Health Ministry has requested other filmmakers to make films on AIDS and generate awareness amongst people. It is expected to be shown before the screening of most feature films releasing early next year.

It may be recalled that a host of top Bollywood celebs came forward to promote AIDS awareness in the 'Haath Se Haath Milaa' music video some time back. Even Revathi's PHIR MILENGE and Onir's MY BROTHER NIKHIL, beautifully dealt with the subject of AIDS.
