Films often bear a resemblance to real life. Film makers don’t shy away from presenting a chunk of their real lives on celluloid. Be it Mahesh Bhatt’s autobiographical WOH LAMHE, Vikram Bhatt’s ANKAHEE etc. The idea of delving into one’s past and portraying it on the silver screen is not uncommon today.

Everyone is aware of Rakeysh Mehra’s autobiographical DILLI 6 that made news recently. Apparently Deepika Padukone was paired opposite Abhishek Bachchan in the film. Well the latest buzz is that Abhishek is no more a part of the film. He has been ousted and Hrithik Roshan has been finalized. So Deepika gets a chance to romance Hrithik instead of Abhishek. The film also stars Om Puri, Atul Kulkarni and Divya Dutta in supporting roles. Even Amitabh Bachchan is supposed to have a cameo in the film. As per reports in a daily, both Abhishek and Rakeysh were keen on working with each other. Infact they worked very hard on the project SAMJHAUTA EXPRESS but it never worked.

Incidentally Amitabh, Abhishek and Jaya Bachchan will be seen together for the first time in Rakeysh Mehra’s musical BHAIRAVI.

Coming back to DILLI 6, it’s based on Rakeysh’s childhood spent in Delhi in Chandni Chowk. The film has been titled DILLI 6 as it was the pin code of the area where Rakeysh spent his childhood. Apparently he himself will make a brief appearance in the film.

As of now, the audience cannot wait to see the Abhishek-Hrithik cop-thief chemistry in the biking fantasy DHOOM 2.
