Work has begun on Anil Kapoor's next production venture SHORTCUT. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy have already recorded two songs for it and the third should be recorded any day now. The title song is very catchy and a potential hit.

Anil, who was supposed to play hero in SHORTCUT, has now opted out of the project as according to him, 'It would not be possible to do justice to two roles, that of a producer and actor together.'

The film now stars Akshaye Khanna, Arshad Warsi and Amrita Rao. SHORTCUT will bring two writer-directors together for the first time. Anees Bazmee of NO ENTRY has penned its story and screenplay while Neeraj Vora of PHIR HERA PHERI fame will direct it. The dialogues are being penned by Anees and Neeraj jointly.
