Remember Shivangi Parekh? OK, for those with short memories, let me add the names of Gul Panag and Yukta Mookhey in the same breath. Rings a bell now? Yes, she was the Femina Miss India winner along with the other two in 1999. Well, the girl had enough of modeling and the glamour world and decided to pursue other interests, four years ago. Shivangi finished her Masters in Broadcast Journalism from University of Maryland, College Park. Earlier, she was part of Capital News Service which covers state of Maryland stories and also part of DC area. What’s interesting is that she gets to shoot and edit her own stories. But what is of news here is that the former beauty queen quietly tied the knot here in Mumbai on December 15, 2006, with her longtime boyfriend. It was quiet and quick. After a brief honeymoon in Goa the couple flew back to the US on December 29. “It’s now unpacking and getting settled to a new life,” she tells me from US. “I don’t feel married as yet. The feeling has yet to sink in.”
