After making a small time romantic comedy called KEHTA HAI DI BAAR BAAR [2002] that starred Jimmy Shergill, Kim Sharma and Paresh Rawal in principal roles, director Rahul Dholakia took a break before recharging his batteries for his next film PARZANIA.

Starring Naseruddin Shah and Sarika in the lead, the film is shown through the eyes of a 10 year old kid Parzan [Master Farzan Dastoor], who makes a play world for himself called PARZANIA!

This world is made on a simple philosophy. While there is a world where we all live in, there is also a world that children build for themselves. A world that is selfless, happy and doesn't comprise of any evils whatsoever.

But then, evils do enter this world when a tragedy happens in the form of a bomb explosion in a train. Resulting in the death of number of Hindus which resulted in retaliation by slaying of thousands of Muslims, the incident disturbs the lives of thousands of innocent people with subsequent terror resulting in Parzan going missing from his house.

Director Rahul Dholakia has left the world of sugar 'n' saccharine humour dipped in dollops of comedy behind him and instead opted for a more hard hitting and socially relevant subject.

Inspired by a true story, PARZANIA is the breathtaking untold story of an event that changed the country and the world forever.
