Arnab ChakrabortyArnab Chakraborty a singing sensation from the City of Joy Kolkata is here to rock the world. He has etched a name for himself in Bollywood working with eminent composers like Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Ram Sampath, Shantanu Moitra, Salim-Suleiman, Pritam, Raju Singh, Jatin-Lalit, Nikhil-Vinay and many others. He came in to the limelight with the superhit song ‘Wada Raha’ from Rajkumar Santoshi’s ‘Khakee’followed by ‘Qatra Qatra’ from the film ‘Family’. A voice behind numerous jingles and remix songs, Arnab climbs another step in the success ladder with his debut solo Indipop album ‘Naam’, released on Times Music. It has music by Dony Hazarika and lyrics by Amit Singh and Amitabh Bhattacharya.

In ‘Naam’ he presents a pleasant shower of melodies sprinkled with the flavour of Indian folk mixed with western beats and styles inspired from genres such as reggae and country. The enchanting rhythm and the sweet yet engaging mystical voice of Arnab tug at every heart gently asking them to delve into the intensity of the songs. The underlying theme of romance unites these melodies. The title song ‘Naam’ is based on the folk tradition of Bengal called ‘Baul’ and is devoted to the Eternal Truth – Life. The piece de resistance of the album is ‘Sooni’, a track reminiscent of the call from a person who has lost the opportunity to unite with his lover but owing to deep-rooted desire he is willing to wait forever. Other clinchers are the romantic folk song from Assam - ‘Zehen’, the groovy Bhojpuri song – ‘Joganiya’, and ‘Aietbaar’ – an Indian interpretation of a western country ballad. All in all this is an album, which will captivate every mood of the listeners.
