Whatever may be the commercial outcome of Shoib Mansoor's Pakistani venture KHUDA KAY LIYE in India, but the film has got a lot of critical acclaim and opened a new avenue for artists from across the border.
In fact, the leading lady of KHUDA KAY LIYE, the pretty Iman Ali now has a lot of fans in India too. The first person who has decided to cast her is the original UMRAO JAAN (1981) director Muzaffar Ali, who is all set to make a film on the love story of Noor Jahan and Jehangir. While Jehangir is still to be finalised, the role of Noor Jahan is to be essayed by Iman Ali.
As per Lahore based sources, director Shaad Ali's father Muzaffar Ali is in location hunting for his upcoming project in the historic city of Pakistan, where some important portions are to be filmed.
As may be recalled, we had broken the news about the same project, way back in October 2007 and informed you that the original UMRAO JAAN lyricist, the renowed Urdu poet Shahryar was all set to wield his pen yet again.
The film is likely to commence in August 2008.
