Look who is giving TASHAN some competition

Yash Raj Films may not have really anticipated this but for a change, there is some movie which is standing up and releasing on the same day as one of their biggest projects till date - TASHAN.
The film is SIRF - LIFE LOOKS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE and unlike TASHAN, which is a musical action entertainer, it belongs to the family drama genre.
Typically whenever a YRF film releases, there is no major film which arrives in and around the same week. LAAGA CHUNARI MEIN DAAG was an exception when BHOOL BHULAIYYA chose to take it hands on and in the process also turned out to be the ultimate winner.
In case of TASHAN, the Friday gone by saw a solo release in the form of HOPE AND A LITTLE SUGAR, 25th April (the day when TASHAN arrives) would have SIRF as competition, while the week which follows would have relatively smaller films like ANAMIKA, PRANALI and MR. BLACK MR. WHITE hitting the marquee.
In fact it would be only after a fortnight, i.e. 9th May, when BHOOTHNATH would pose some serious competition for TASHAN. However, the biggest challenge would continue to be IPL which going by the trends, is already making people stay at home once the action begins early evening till late in the night!
