MADHUR BHANDARKAR HONOURED WITH PRIDE OF INDIA AWARD BY AIATF CHAIRMAN M.S BITTAThe three times National Award winning Film Director, Madhur Bhandarkar was felicitated with yet another honor as he was conferred the PRIDE OF INDIA award by Mr. Maninderjit Singh Bitta (M.S Bitta), the Chairman of All India Anti Terrorist Front (AIATF), a renowned non-political and non-sectarian organization committed to foster a spirit of intellectual inquiry, understanding and goodwill among all people on 9th August, 2008 in Delhi.

Madhur was awarded this title for his extra ordinary contribution to Indian Cinema and having won Three National Awards in the field of Film Direction. Madhur had won his first National award for CHANDNI BAR, which was selected as Best Social Film for the year 2002. Than came PAGE 3, which changed the entire stature of Madhur Bhandarkar. This film, apart from winning him rave reviews, also won the National award in Best Feature Film category. Film TRAFFIC SIGNAL became his third in a row National Award, as he was announced as the best Film Director of 2007 for Traffic Signal.

Following his National Awards streak, Madhur was recently also honored by the legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, where he was termed as today's Hrishikesh Mukherjee by Mr. Bachchan himself. Madhur's outstanding and socially relevant films are not just making him to attain national glories but are being appreciated by many NGO's too. An example is the AIATF, which honored him with the PRIDE OF INDIA AWARD.

''I am very glad to achieve this high honor. My movies are not exposive, maybe they just hold up a mirror to society. My movies are not judgmental, I just show what happens in our society, sometimes there could be a solution and sometimes there may be none. Life goes on''. Says Madhur Bhandarkar.

Madhur is always known for his socially relevant and hard hitting films. After out of ordinary films like SATTA, PAGE -3, CORPORATE and his third in a row National award winning film TRAFFIC SIGNAL, Madhur is all set to come up with his next film FASHION, which stars many top Bollywood celebrities like former Miss World, Priyanka Chopra, Kangna Ranaut and Mugdha Godse.

With three National Awards and titles like today's 'HRISHIKESH MUKHERJEE' and 'PRIDE OF INDIA' already to his name, Madhur Bhandarkar's next ventures will be looked upon with much more expectations. FASHION, which is close to its release in a couple of months and JAIL scheduled for next year's summer release, will both be reviewed with loads of anticipation and elements of extra ordinary cinema.
