Anees Bazmee has scored a hat trick. After NO ENTRY and WELCOME, he now has SINGH IS KINNG as a huge success to his name. The common factor though amongst each of these films is a huge star cast that has boasted of the likes of Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar and of course Katrina Kaif. Does he feel that presence of stars has made a huge difference to the box office outcome of his movies as well?

Unruffled by the question, Anees Bazmee says, ''Of course presence of stars do make a difference. After all they help in a film gaining enough eyeballs. However, if there are some mega hits with stars, there are also disasters which have been delivered by them. Cliched as this may sound but the fact remains that it is an ultimate product that matters.''

Mincing no words, he goes on to say, ''Let's pick up a classic example of BAABUL. The film had everyone from Amitabh Bachchan to Salman Khan to Rani Mukherjee to John Abraham. What happened to the film is not hidden from anyone. Chalo, let's forget about what happened yesterday and talk about the current times. There was this huge monster-to-be which came earlier this year. It was a film by the name of TASHAN. Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor - what else did you expect a filmmaker to get for a cast? However, wasn't it a flop?''

''Any actor or film maker can come up with a hit or a flop based on the kind of material you have on hand and the project's execution'', explains Bazmee, ''You can't pinpoint anyone and claim that he or she was the sole reason for a film's success or failure.''

From here Bazmee moves on his next film which is tentatively titled ITS MY LIFE. Incidentally, the film doesn't quite boast of stars per se and features relative newcomers in the form of Harman Baweja and Genelia D'Souza.
